In game one of their quarterfinal series, West Warwick defeated Woonsocket in eight innings, 10-5.

West Warwick, who received eight walks and had seven hits, broke the game open in the top of the eighth inning with five runs on two bases loaded walks (Leyton Belanger and Nick Andruchow) and timely hits from Jack Proulx (rbi single) and Anthony Burt (two run single).

Zack Lawrence started and finished the game for WWCM. In 4 2/3 innings of work, he struck out two and allowed one hit. Josh Pedus earned the win and Mason Hunt pitched two innings of scoreless middle relief.

Ethan Torres, who played well in centerfield, tied the game with a two out two run single in the bottom of the seventh.

Chris Singleton, Woonsocket’s starter, struck out five batters and allowed only one earned run in 4 1/3 innings of work.

Defensively, WWCM backed their pitching with three double plays and the solid play in centerfield by Anthony Burt (five putouts).

Preliminary Round – Game Two
Slocum Baseball 3 P-K Landscaping 1
Slocum wins series, 2-0

Will Creed (pictured) hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the first inning and Slocum’s pitchers Evan Rodger and Dan Napoli held Smithfield scoreless over the last six innings for a 3-1 game two victory.

The win advances Slocum Baseball to the Quarterfinals where they will face Warwick PAL.

Rodger, who pitched 5 2/3 innings, struck out nine batters. Napoli earned the save with 1 1/3 innings of no-hit relief.

Preliminary Round – Game One
East Greenwich 13 Scituate 0

Backed by a 13 runs, East Greenwich and Will Klika cruised past Scituate, 13-0.

Klika, who pitched all five innings, struck out nice batters and allowed just three hits.

Slocum Baseball 7 P-K Landscaping 1

Led by the strong pitching of Will Andrews, Slocum Baseball of North Kingstown captured game one of their Preliminary Round series with P-K Landscaping of Smithfield, 7-1.

Andrews, who gave up one run on five scattered hits, struck out four batters and allowed just one free pass in a complete game effort.

Blake Lukens struck out eleven batters en route to a one-hit shutout over Slocum Baseball, 4-0.

Offensively, Jason Pannone’s rbi single provided in the second inning provided Lukens the only run that he needed.

Henry Alfonso, also, added clutch RBI’s in the top of the fourth and seventh inning.
