After seeing an early 6-0 lead erased by a six run third inning by the Avengers, Slocum Baseball erupted for three runs in the top of the seventh inning and held on to a 10-9 victory over East Greenwich.

Chris Farrelly picked up the win for Slocum by string out two batters in 2 1/3 innings. With the winning run in scoring position, Will Clarke earned a save by striking out a batter to end the game.

Evan Rodger (2/4, two runs scored) lined a timely rbi double in Slocums’s three-run seventh.

Slocum also received multiple hits from Quincy Rome (2/3, three runs scored), Rocco Coseglia (2/4, 1 rbi), Hunter Hornstein (2/4, two runs and 1 rbi), Joe Gaccione (3/4, two runs and one rbi double) and Tom McGee (3/4 with two rbi’s).

East Greenwich, which had ten hits, were led by Walker Klika (three-run double), Alex Tullo (2/2, one run and one walk), Nolan Malafronte (2/3, one run scored) and Ace Schwarzbach (2/3, one run and two rbi’s).


Warwick PAL beat Coventry 10-0 in five innings.

Jack Colvin (pictured right) pitched a complete game, striking out nine and only surrendering one hit.

Austin Wheeler scored twice while controlling the infield on defense and Jonah Lafauci led the way offensively, collecting two hits and driving in four runs.


The Avengers, who were down four runs, came from behind to beat West Warwick, 11-6.

Anthony Mazzeo got the victory for EG, giving up just two earned runs on three hits over six innings. Ayaan Modi finished up with a 1-2-3 seventh.

Nolan Malafronte led the Avenger offensive charge with 3 hits and 3 RBI’s. In addition, Nolan Colucci (2/3, one double and two runs), Alex Tullo (three-run double).

Jack Proulx, Zach Labonte and Chase Dawley each knocked a hit for the Wizards.


Led by the overall play of WW graduate, Zack Lawrence, the Orange and Black posted a road win over Smithfield, 10-5.

Lawrence, who caught, pitched and played third base, collected three hits, (two doubles), drove in two runs and scored twice.

Tim Dean earned the win by striking out six batters and allowing just two hits in 4 1/3 innings.

WWCM, who had twelve hits, were led by Lawrence, Anthony Burt (2/2, 2 walks and two runs), Dylan Provoyeur (2/4, one run and one rbi), Mason Hunt (2/3, one rbi triple and one run), Leyton Belanger (rbi double), Welmer Montilla-Cruz (1/2, 2 walks and one rbi) and Tim Dean (1/4, one run and one rbi).

Tucker Byrnes, Josh Turner, Dylan Cordeiro, and Gio Quattrini each had one hit for P-K Landscaping.

Led by the solid pitching of Will Andrews, Slocum Baseball edged Woonsocket, 3-2.

Andrews, who threw 61 of 97 pitches for strikes, struck out nine batters and allowed two runs on three hits in pitching a complete game.

Tied at 2-2 in the top of the fifth inning, Andrews received a two-out walk and later scored on a single by Will Creed to put the North Kingstown based team up 3-2.

In addition to Creed (2/2, one rbi), Slocum received hits from
Rocco Coseglia (1/3, one rbi), Hunter Hornstein (1/3, one run) and Tim McGee (1/3).
